Bible verse 09-03-12

 Breakfast on the Beach
Monday September 3, 2012 by Women of Faith

Jesus said to them, "Come and eat breakfast." Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, "Who are You?"—knowing that it was the Lord. John 21:12

It had been a tough morning. Following Jesus' death, several disciples returned to their regularly scheduled programming. They got up early, took their fishing nets, and . . . nothing. Not a bite. Until some guy stood on the shore and called out a weird suggestion to throw their nets in from the other side of the boat.

I wonder if any of them grumbled briefly, "What difference does it make which side of the boats we throw the nets from? Who is this guy?" But by then, they were desperate enough to try anything.

Suddenly, when their nets were heavy, the same question took on a different meaning, because they knew the answer. John shouted, "It is the Lord!" and Peter could not get to Jesus fast enough. Other than suggesting that they add some of the fresh catch to His spread, Jesus' sole response was, "Come and eat breakfast."

Now, wait just a minute. When read in context, the scripture notes that this is Jesus' third post-resurrection appearance, a miracle unto itself. After all, these men saw Him perish on the cross. And not only that, He's preparing a meal on the beach—not as a ghost or apparition, but as a physical being able to lift things and build a fire, etc. Then, after their own efforts had been useless, He provides an abundance of fish with one simple instruction. And after these marvels, He simply says, "Come and eat breakfast"?

Yes.

We create so much unnecessary hoopla in our own regularly scheduled programming. We plan, we implement, and we work hard . . . and get frustrated when nothing comes of it. Desperate and empty, we finally look to Jesus as a last resort—because we don't recognize who He is. And sometimes, really, all He's asking is that we come join Him and take part in what He's prepared and created. The rest will come.

So declutter your mind of plans, schedules, and "to do" lists. Instead, look out upon the waves, wiggle your toes in the sand, absorb the sights, smells, and sounds, and enjoy the moment for what it is&mdashnot what it means, not what lies ahead, not how you arrived here. There will be another time for that. For now, just be present with Him.

After all, in the best relationships, sometimes words are unnecessary.

Lord Jesus, I bring no words, no petitions with me right now. Just a moment to be still and commune with You in gratitude and love, using all of my senses to absorb and celebrate Your beautiful creation.

Garden tips for veggies

From Saving Dinner:
Love these emails I get. They are full of info.
I'm going to shred the rest of my zucchini to save for later. Smart.

Making the most of the harvest!

by Leanne Ely

The summer is on its way out in many parts of the country. With the kids back in school, it's like a signal to the brain to start gathering food for the winter!

If you live in a part of the world where fresh local veggies are a summer luxury, you want to take advantage of Mother Earth's bounty at this time of year. Even if you live in a climate that's warm and sunny year round, you want to stock pile items when they're in season - at the peak of their freshness - so you can enjoy them when they are in shorter supply.

Here are some ways to get the most out of some common veggies that are known for taking over gardens!

Zucchini. These summer squashes are prolific. When you grow zucchini you better like it because those plants are pretty serious producers. Zucchini is an extremely versatile food (we will be featuring it in a post later this week so watch for that!) which can be enjoyed sliced into a stirfry, grated into a meatloaf or shredded and baked into a chocolate cake or a batch of muffins. I like to add zucchini to my stirfrys for as many meals as possible and I cook some into relishes and salsas, but I also grate my zucchini and freeze it in one cup portions to have for baking, soups and pasta sauce.

Tomatoes. Besides the obvious suggestion of canning your tomatoes or making them into salsa, did you know you can also freeze them? Just toss your tomatoes in a freezer bag and pop them in the freezer. Take them out as you need them to make pizza sauce, pasta sauce or chili.

Beans. I like to freeze beans rather than canning them, mostly because that way they keep their nice green color. Wash your beans, snip the ends and cut them into 2-inch pieces or leave them whole. Blanch them by putting them in boiling water for about 3 minutes, and then put them in an ice bath for 3 minutes before placing them in the container you'll be freezing them in. I use plain old freezer bags.

Spinach. I don't like to waste a single leaf of this green miracle vegetable! Fresh spinach is fabulous in salads but salad from the garden can be frozen and used in smoothies, sauces and all kinds of other dishes all year long. Simply wash your spinach (a couple of times) to remove dirt and bugs. Spin it as dry as you can and then stuff it into freezer bags to take out as needed. You don't need to thaw it before using it.

Beets. If you have more beets than you know what to do with but you can't stand them pickled, did you know you can freeze them? Cook a big batch of beets then put them in an ice bath. When they're nice and cold, peel off the skins and slice them. Put them in freezer bags and away you go!

Peppers. Warning! Peppers lose their crunchiness after they've been frozen and thawed, but they keep their flavor. Frozen peppers are best suited for cooked dishes where the crunch isn't important. To freeze peppers, simply slice them how you like and freeze in bags!

Do you have any food preservation tips for us to make the most of other seasonal foods?http://www.facebook.com/savingdinner

Zelda Historia book

From Technabob blog:

Legend of Zelda Hyrule Historia Book: A Link to Link and Everything Zelda

Posted: 17 Aug 2012 02:00 PM PDT

Fans of the Legend of Zelda series have long wondered about the chronology and connection of the 16 main games. As part of its 25th anniversary celebration this year, its creators finally revealed the canonical answer to these questions and more in the bookLegend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia. Originally available only in Japan and only in Japanese, an English translation of the book is now slated for release in North America as well.

legend of zelda hyrule historia hc book

Aside from explaining "the full history" of the franchise – including details on the bloodline of the Hylians and their decline – the 274-page Zelda bible also contains lots of never before seen concept art and sketches, as well as a Skyward Sword manga. Here's a look at the Japanese version of the book, courtesy of YouTuber MyGamingBoulevard:

The Amazon listing for the book claims that co-creator Shigeru Miyamoto co-authored the book, but all I can say for sure is that he penned the book's introduction. You can pre-order the book from TFAW for $28 (USD) or from Amazon for $21. It will be available on January 29, 2013

Avengers 2

From Technabob blog:

The Avengers 2 Release Date Revealed

Posted: 17 Aug 2012 08:00 AM PDT

The superhero flick The Avengers was one of the biggest earning films of the year and proved so popular planning for a sequel commenced right away (if not before the movie was released.) If you're a big fan of superhero movies, you'll be excited to hear that the launch date for the sequel to The Avengers has been offered up.

avengers

It appears that the film is simply called The Avengers 2, and Joss Whedon will be returning to direct this one. The release date that has surfaced for now is May 1, 2015. Sadly, that's nearly three years from now. I honestly thought the movie would come out as quickly as the studio could turn around another film. I guess one of the reasons it's going to take a while for the film the hit theaters is that Iron Man star Robert Downey, Jr. is working hard on another blockbuster superhero film right now, and is currently shooting Iron Man 3.

Thankfully, we won't have to wait as long to get our Marvel fix, as Iron Man 3′s expected launch date is May 3, 2013.

Athletes returning to home country

After London 2012: Returning a Risk for North Korean AthletesKristin Wright

ReligionToday.com Columnist

London 2012 marks North Korea's most successful Olympics since 1992. The North Koreans have taken home 4 gold medals and a bronze in their most successful presentation in decades. With 56 athletes entered in 11 sports, the communist country seemed relentless in its quest to win.

Gold medalist Kim Un-Guk, among other North Korean medalists, was quick to praise North Korea's new leader, Kim Jong Un, for the victory he achieved. "I won first place because the shining Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un gave me power and courage," he said.

But what happens when North Korean athletes fail to bring home the gold? ABC News reported last week that North Korea offers athletes a carrot-and-stick approach – televisions, refrigerators and cars for winners, and labor camp sentences for losers.

The rumors aren't confirmed, but athletes report that "review meetings" exist after the competitions, in which those found to be disloyal to North Korea's regime are banned from competing and even sentenced to forced labor camps. With the stakes so high, many people have wondered why North Koreans don't take the opportunity afforded by the Olympics to leave their communist homeland and seek asylum elsewhere.

But experts say that leaving North Korea is not that simple.

On NPR's All Things Considered, Olympic historian David Wallechinsky weighed in on why North Koreans aren't defecting as the games wind to a close. "I have actually visited North Korea and this is the most repressive country I've ever been to," Wallechinskysaid. "What they do is they threaten the families."

Wallechinsky described speaking to Albania's greatest athlete shortly after the fall of communism. The man told him that when he went to the 1972 Olympics there was a minder for every athlete. "They were never allowed to be alone," he reported. "And I'm sure that's the exact same thing that the North Koreans are doing."

Human rights experts say that North Korea's brutal concentration camps are designed for the punishment of those found disloyal to the regime. Satellite images of the camps reveal miles of death camps that confine more than 200,000 political prisoners.

Defectors speak of horrific abuse that occurs within the camps – forced labor, torture, rape, execution. Shin Dong-hyuk grew up in a North Korean concentration camp. His father's father had been imprisoned years before when his brother defected to South Korea. For this, Shin's entire family had been imprisoned for generations. Shin rarely saw his mother or his father as they were separated in different parts of the camp. While he was still a child he and his father were forced to watch his mother and brother as they were executed for attempting to escape.

With such dire circumstances faced by those who oppose the regime in any way, it's little wonder that North Korean athletes have been so quick to sing the praises of their new leader. The winner of Olympic gold in the women's judo 52-kilogram division, An Kum-Ae, made her patriotic ambitions clear immediately. ""As an athlete I believe by winning the gold medal I was able to glorify my nation and give support to the people of my nation, so I am really happy," she said. "I believe I gave some happiness and joy to our leader, Kim Jong Un."

The poverty-struck nation of 25 million has been afforded the opportunity to watch five hours a day of live Olympic coverage – although viewing is of course limited to those with electricity. Featured interviews on North Korean television shows citizens proclaiming their adoration for Kim Jong Un.

Yang Moo Jin, a professor at University of North Korean Studies in Seoul, says that North Koreans have a lot resting on their Olympic performances. "North Korea is giving their best performance," he says. "It's the first Olympics since the Kim Jong Un regime took over, so they're trying to use it to boost morale for their people and unite them."

According to the North Korea Freedom Coalition, a Washington, D.C.-based group advocating for human rights in North Korea, "Human rights in North Korea are virtually non-existent." The group reports that "the government regulates individual lives from speech, opinion, and thought, to employment, travel, and food rations," and says that "hundreds of thousands have fled to China and other neighboring countries to seek subsistence."

The North Korea Freedom Coalition advocates for prisoners of conscience in North Korea, as well as those who have tried to escape. The group says that "China continues to forcibly repatriate North Koreans to a fate that includes imprisonment where they may experience torture, medical and chemical experiments, forced abortions, infanticide, starvation, and hard labor."

Could the prospect of facing these horrific circumstances be driving some of the relentless praise for Kim Jong Un from the nation's Olympians? As the Olympics wind down, there seems to be no end in sight for the praise directed at the nation's "Dear Leader." Om Yun Chol won gold in the men's 56-kilogram weightlifting. "There are no secrets," he said later. "The reason for my improvement and how I won the gold medal is [due] to the warm love of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il and the Great Comrade Kim Jong Un."

Facts about our President and our Gov't

The U.S. Economy By The Numbers: 70 Facts That Barack Obama Does Not Want You To See
Why is the economy going to collapse?  Have you ever been asked that question?  If so, what did you say?  Sometimes it is difficult to communicate dozens of complicated economic and financial concepts in a package that the average person on the street can easily digest.  It can be very frustrating to know that something is true but not be able to explain it clearly to someone else.  Hopefully many of you out there will find the list below useful.  It is a list of 70 numbers that show why we are headed for a national economic nightmare.  So why does the title of the article single out Barack Obama?  Well, it is because right now he is the biggest cheerleader for the economy.  He is attempting to convince all of us that everything is just fine and that the economy is heading in a positive direction.  Well, the truth is that everything is not fine and things are about to get a whole lot worse.  Certainly others should share in the blame as well.  Congress has been steering the economy in the wrong direction for decades, the "too big to fail" banks have turned Wall Street into a pyramid of risk, leverage and debt, and the Federal Reserve has more power over the financial system than anyone else does.  Our economy has been in decline for quite a while now, and soon we are going to smash directly into an economic brick wall.  Unfortunately, a lot of Americans are in denial about this.  A lot of people out there doubt that an economic collapse is coming.  Well, if you know someone that believes that the U.S. economy is going to be "just fine", just show them the list below.
The following are 70 facts that Barack Obama does not want you to see....

53 - Last year, an astounding 53 percent of all U.S. college graduates under the age of 25 were either unemployed or underemployed.
60 - According to a recent Gallup poll, only 60 percent of all Americans say that they have enough money to live comfortably.
61 - At this point the Federal Reserve is essentially monetizing much of the U.S. national debt.  For example, the Federal Reserve bought up approximately 61 percent of all government debt issued by the U.S. Treasury Department during 2011.
63 - One recent survey found that 63 percent of all Americans believe that the U.S. economic model is broken.

BHO

I read snopes and he did not know BHO, he was there the same time.
Still an interesting and to the point article.

FINALLY A CLASSMATE OF OBAMA SPEAKS OUT.
Let's see Obama's college transcripts NOW.
THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS PLAN IS VOTING – VOTING THIS NOVEMBER. The more people that understand what Obama is accomplishing, the better chance we have to save our Republic. It may be our last and only chance.

An Obama classmate speaks out

Yes, Wayne Allyn Root's statement below has been "Correctly Attributed"

The link to Snopes.com is at the end of his statement.

If Obama is re-elected in 2012, the US is finished.

The following is in simple language that everyone can understand.
Not the gibberish that our government keeps telling people.

Please read this carefully and make sure you keep this message going.
This needs to be emailed to everyone in the USA ...

OBAMA'S COLLEGE CLASSMATE SPEAKS OUT

By Wayne Allyn Root

Barack Hussein Obama
is no fool. He is not incompetent.
To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing.
He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. Economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos –
thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Hussien Obama was my college classmate.

( Columbia University , class of '83).

He is a devout Muslim; do not be fooled. Look at his Czars... Anti-business… anti-American.
As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Barack Hussien Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University ... They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands.

Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival... And can be counted on to always vote for even bigger government.

Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

Universal health care!
The health care bill had very little to do with health care.
It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers,
as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).
Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt.
What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government.
Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

Cap and trade!
Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming.
It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors.
Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power.
The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

Make Puerto Rico a state. Why?
Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression?
Certainly not American taxpayers! But this has been Barack Hussien Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressmen and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
(This will tip the balance of those living off the government to more than those who must pay for it; and we're done for)

Legalize 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants.
Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America .
But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government.
Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security...
(see note above re: Puerto Rico )

Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go?
It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country.
It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues.
It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).
A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues).
All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America ...
The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful.

The ends justify the means.
Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government.
Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Barack Hussien Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme –
all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Hussien Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan...

Last point: think about what this designed 'rule of the rabble' will do to anyone successful…and everyone receiving this is. What will your lives be like under communism? The time to fight this abomination is now…I hope each of you will forward to at least a dozen people.

Super Mario Marbles

So pretty.
From the Technabob blog:

Super Mario Bros. Glass Marbles Blow Me Away

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 04:00 PM PDT

Damn. Those are marbles? When I was a kid marbles were boring swirly colored little orbs. These things are works of art that look so awesome that they should be in some combination of a 3D Mario and a Metroid game.
Mario Marbles
These handcrafted Super Mario Bros. marbles were made by glass blowing artist Paul Stephan from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. All I can say is, the man is an artist. Each of these marbles shows an actual level behind our hero, with some amazing detail.

Damn. Now I really want to buy these. And I can't. Paul needs to get himself a deal and start working with Nintendo to produce more of these things so that we can all buy them. Great work, Paul!

3DS XL

Ack now they have an XL version. Ack!

From the Technabob blog:

Satoru Iwata Tries to Explain Why No Second Circle Pad for 3DS XL

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 01:00 PM PDT

Each time I look at a photo of the Nintendo 3DS XL I wonder why Nintendo didn't just add a second circle pad to the console from the start. I always figured it was because Nintendo wanted to sell the Circle Pad accessory. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata is offering up the official explanation of why the portable console only has one circle pad.

3ds xl

According to Iwata the main concerns for Nintendo when designing the 3DS XL console was longer battery life and to have as large a screen as possible. He says that a second circle pad was never a main focus when designing the console, but it was something Nintendo looked into. He claims that the second circle pad would've required a physically larger portable and a smaller battery.

Iwata said during a recent interview, "When we looked at the design of the 3DS XL, we had to look at various factors. One was battery life. One was the overall size of the unit. And we had to make some trade-offs. The choice, if we were going to include the second analog stick, was to reduce the size of the batteries or make the unit much bigger. What we wanted to do was have a bigger screen in comparison with the overall size of the system, so we had various discussions and had to make trade-offs, and this is the outcome."

Ice trays

This is an awesome idea. Much better than those stupid trays.

From the Technabob blog:

The Cube Tube Improves Upon the Ordinary Ice Tray

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 08:00 AM PDT

I use ice cubes regularly (who doesn't?) but I find filling up the ice trays after all the ice has been used up to be quite the chore. There's the task of having to pour water slowly into each compartment and make sure it's not too full or not too empty, before slowly walking back to the freezer to put the tray back in. There's also the mess and sanitation risk of having to handle each cube by hand.

Cube Tube
A neat solution to this is the Cube Tube. It's basically a square-shaped container that you're supposed to fill with water. Then you insert the divider that does all the work for you, twist it in to seal it, and pop the entire thing into the freezer. And voila, you're done! No muss, no fuss, and definitely no spillage.

Pretty convenient, right?

Cube Tube1

They're not for sale yet, although the projected price for these Cube Tubes are about $7 to $8 when they go into production. For the convenience it brings, I'd say that's a reasonable price. Check them out on Quirky for more information.

Bunny + Dr Who = The cuteness

From Technabob blog:

The Cast of Doctor Who in Bunny Form, Why Not?

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 07:00 AM PDT

Here comes Doctor Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail. Hippity Hoppity, the TARDIS is on the way… What the hell happened to the Doctor here? And Amy and Rory? Well, this isn't some lost Easter special episode. Etsy seller Catherine Boucher aka StitchyButton turned them into cute little bunnies.
Doctor Who bunnies
Yeah, this has probably been done before, but if so, I'm sure it wasn't done this well. These time traveling hares are adorable.

She makes all kinds of famous characters into bunnies in fact. You might say that they multiply like rabbits. She makes Harry Potter, Marvel characters, and even the ladies fromGame of Thrones – but they're not rabbits, at least not yet. But these Doctor who bunnies are the neatest I think. Great work, Catherine!

Grace at Work

Enduring Grace @ Work – Part I

by Margaret D. Mitchell
Week of July 8, 2012

"Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."  -Ephesians 6:7

"Say to those with fearful hearts, 'Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.'"  -Isaiah 35:4

A couple of my friends recently shared their greatest workplace challenges with me over coffee. Among their laments were: A boss with a double-mind; evil co-workers; multiple, drastic process changes and unattainable performance expectations.

Though these friends prayed together at work, they felt they had seen little improvement. What's more, they had grown weary in well-doing. They wanted to know where to go from where they were. Here are the results of that conversation that may help you, should you find yourself in difficult circumstances at work:

God's Purpose: Why Am I Here?– Yes, your job is for more than a paycheck! Your job is your divine assignment. It is your mission field. It is all divinely purposed! And it is seasonal! You are there so that God can do a work in you, through you and for you (on your behalf) simultaneously. He will use the people, the location and the daily circumstances to accomplish His will accordingly, even—and especially if—you find yourself in a job that you would've never selected for yourself. God will use it all! Are you willing to journey through it with Him and yield to His way of doing His work in, through and for you?

God's Strategy: What Do I Do?– Maintain a servant's attitude, and do the job you were hired to do with excellence. Watch your mouth, your attitude and your actions. Affirm to God that you need His help. Ask God what He wants you to see, know and do amid your circumstances. Ask God to enable you to receive all He has for you and nothing that is not of Him. Ask God to reveal to you His vision, strategy, reinforcement, divine appointments and divine connections. Ask God for a Christian prayer partner or group. Ask God to lead you to the sources and resources that have what you need. All along the way, ask God to reveal His understanding and solutions to problems. Your journey will contain incremental successes. All of it will challenge you in the area of character building to prepare you for your next promotion.

God knows and sees all things, and He will get you where He wants you to be and help you do what He wants you to do if you are willing to hearken. Pray for your boss, your co-workers and the company as the Holy Spirit leads. You will endure the journey and can be promoted faster (internally or externally) by processing through every challenge God's way. Remember, God takes us from holiness to holiness, from glory to glory. Sometimes, He accomplishes this work quickly by taking us through the furnace. In so doing, He redeems lost time. God can do much in these accelerated times in which we work and live. He is the ultimate multitasker. So count it all good, and journey through God's way, so you don't have to perpetually cycle through rounds of testing.

Guard Your Heart | Don Your Armor (Eph. 6:11-18) – Your heart belongs to God, so be careful with human connections, especially in your workplace. Not everyone will have your back or even like you. Some may feel envious or competitive towards you. Many will have different beliefs than yours. Kindness and prayer are strengths, but not everyone will be interested in what your heart has to offer. Apply wisdom. If people are not willing to receive what you are willing to give, there can be no deep connection without God's transformational power intervening. Know this ahead of time; respect and accept others' right to choose (God does); shake the dust off, and turn from situations where people do not accept you. In essence, don't waste your time. Remember, Jesus suffered rejection, so you're not alone. Speak a blessing over those who reject you, and ask God to redirect your path to those who are willing and able to receive. Be professional, move on and keep your eyes on the Lord.

Regarding your boss, she/he has a job to do, regardless of your friendly relationship with her/him. That means you must perform up to standard in the position for which you were hired. If you do not, you will be penalized. It is wrong to expect your boss to cover your inadequate performance regardless of whether you are friends with her/him. In workplaces, performance is paramount. Unless you are a member of a family business or own your own company, bosses will not typically extend the kind of grace your mother would. It is not their job to take care of you outside of your work life. It is their job to oversee you and your work while you are at work. They have a lot on their plate. And not all bosses will nurture you, simply due to time constraints. Various bosses have varying management styles. And different companies have different corporate cultures. Pray about this. Regardless of your circumstances, it is your responsibility to do the job you were hired to do with excellence unto the Lord. Excellence is Jesus' standard. If it is impossible for you to meet the company's standards, pray and perhaps speak to your boss about improving the processes that affect you or ask her/him to reassign you to an area where your strengths can shine. Ask God to make you aware when your job assignment is complete and finish well. How you finish is how you will enter into your next job assignment. And remember, God may give you a season of rest before your next assignment. So follow His lead.

Do not allow yourself to be provoked by your boss or co-workers. Those of us who have high callings on our lives will be perpetually tested on this until we overcome this issue, the purpose being to mature us to a level where we can stand among multitudes and glorify God with our thoughts, speech, attitude and actions no matter what offense is hurled at us. Jesus did. Whoever is provoking you is God's instrument in this regard, so count it as joy (James 1:2). Remember, God is sovereign, and no one can do anything short of God's permissive will. As Christians, we are to respond from the Holy Spirit, not react from offense. If you find that someone gets under your skin frequently, it could be that God is trying to get your attention to turn to Him to learn how to become "unprovokable. " You are in training for eternity! Ask God to help you, and listen to what He reveals to you. He knows just how to get you there.

Zombies and Assassins Creed

From the Technobob blog:

Z World Zombie Theme Park Could Make Abandoned Detroit a Cool Place to Visit

Posted: 05 Jul 2012 12:00 PM PDT

I'm sure most of us have watched zombie shows such as The Walking Dead and wondered if we would be able to survive a zombie apocalypse. An entrepreneur named Mark Siwak has a seriously awesome idea for a theme park that would let you find out how you would fare if zombies were to attack. The man has a plan to make a theme park using abandoned and derelict areas of Detroit called Z World.

zombie hoard

The idea is that people would come to the theme park in pay to enter a 200-acre apocalyptic style abandoned urban setting where you can run and hide from zombies to your heart's content. The idea would be to see if you can take refuge in the abandoned buildings and survive the zombie horde. Sadly, you won't be able to try out your Crovel at Z World.

Siwak believes that this theme park could employ hundreds or even thousands of people in the Detroit area to shuffle around in zombie makeup and work other areas of the park. However, some think the plan is nothing more than an attempt to capitalize on Detroit's woes. Apparently, Detroit has lost approximately area 1.1 million citizens since 1950 leaving massive areas uninhabited and crumbling. That sounds like the perfect place for a zombie theme park to me. For now, we'll have to settle for this.

Assassin's Creed III "Rise" Trailer Tells Its Tale Using Real Actors

Posted: 05 Jul 2012 11:15 AM PDT

We've seen our share of trailers for the coming video game Assassin's Creed III, expected to launch in October. So far the trailers we've seen have used actual gameplay footage to show what the video game will be like. A new trailer for the video game went live yesterday that uses live actors to promote the rebellion theme of the video game.

The "rise" message of the video since makes sense considering the game is set during the American Revolution. The trailer shows a number of different actors in situations looking stoic as bad things happen – typically perpetrated by enemy soldiers or plain mean people.

We've seen previous trailers that show naval warfare allowing the player to control or ownership and board enemy ships for hand-to-hand combat. There have also been rumors that players will be able to domesticate animals and play some sort of mysterious third character. From the looks of things, this may be one of the game to come in the Assassin's Creed franchise yet.
