WHAT'S NEW T-SHIRTS GEEK TOYS CLEARANCE GIFT GUIDE
Star Wars Han Solo in Carbonite Chocolate Bar

Last holiday ever?

We had to chuckle when a spam email reminded us that the Mayans predicted we'll be outta here before the holly daze of 2012. If that's the case, ThinkGeek is prepared! We're ready to rock your under-tree zone with gifts for fans of Star Wars, Portal, and bonsai kitties.

And zombie fans, don't fret. The Walking Dead is gone until February, but we have plenty of undead for you here.

What's New at ThinkGeek!

Take $10 Off - Happy Blue Beanie Day!

If your images were on you'd see Take $10 Off - Happy Blue Beanie Day!
We hope you used the Thanksgiving break to upgrade the browsers on the computers of your not-so-tech-savvy relations. If you didn't, please do it next month and make the web designers and code monkeys of the world super duper happy! In honor of Blue Beanie day and web standards, we offer $5 off $30 or $10 off $50 by using the code BLUEBEANIE, good through 11:59pm ET on 12/02/11.

Star Wars R2-D2 Folding Armchair - Droids love to support humans

If your images were on you'd see Star Wars R2-D2 Folding Armchair - Droids love to support humans
This R2-D2 wants nothing more than to help you comfortably sit while on the go. He'll go camping, or to fan conventions, or to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July. We don't recommend bringing him to Hoth unless you're going to go ice fishing or something; he's more of a warm weather droid. This fully licensed Lucasfilm collectible is only found at ThinkGeek!

Bonsai Kitty - An ancient meme brought to life

If your images were on you'd see Bonsai Kitty - An ancient meme brought to life
Here at ThinkGeek we love memes and kittehs equally. Since a real Bonsai Kitty would be cruel, we have created the amazing Bonsai Kitty Plush. This cuddly kitty comes direct from Dr. Chang's lab and wants to live at your house, dorm room, or office. Please do not free him from the jar! In his distorted shape, he is no longer able to exist in the outside world. Instead give him love and accept him as a beautiful consequence of human ingenuity and moral breakdown.

Collapsible Shot Glass - Be prepared!

If your images were on you'd see Collapsible Shot Glass - Be prepared!
Unfortunately, there's no scouting program that teaches you how to be prepared for adult situations. You know what we mean. What happens when you're at your favorite fan convention, gaming and schmoozing, and someone whips out a bottle of something delicious? You, geek friend, will be prepared if you have the collapsible shot glass on your person. Just pop it open and you're ready to imbibe just over 2 ounces of whatever liquid heaven is being poured. When you're done, rinse it out and pop it closed again.

Zombie Family Car Decals - The family that shambles together

If your images were on you'd see Zombie Family Car Decals - The family that shambles together
Ever look at the back windows of other people's cars and think you could do better than cutesy family stickers? Is your family more hardcore? Are they the kind of folks who would double-tap you if you were bitten by a zombie? Show your pride in your family with these Zombie Family Car Decals. They're black and white and red all over and include the whole gang: Mom, Dad, Daughter, Son, Baby, Dog, Cat, and Fish.

Unicorn Chopsticks - For a magical mealtime

If your images were on you'd see Unicorn Chopsticks - For a magical mealtime
Here at ThinkGeek, we're bringing the magic back to mealtime. What's more magical than a pair of tiny unicorns with overgrown horns? Turning them upside down and using them to eat your favorite Asian foods, that's what! They'll even stand on their tiny hooves to prevent your chopsticks from touching the table. Magical and considerate, those unicorns.

DIY Chocolate Bar Kit - Old school chocolate bar

If your images were on you'd see DIY Chocolate Bar Kit - Old school chocolate bar
And we really mean old school. Not like your parents had, but like, say, Christopher Columbus had around a million years ago when he visited North America for the first time. Seriously, though, this is pure chocolate, the finest organic Ecuadorian cacao you'll find. Melt it, mix it with the cacao butter and agave nectar (for sweetness), and pour into the mold. Once it cools and hardens, you'll have a chocolate bar just like folks were enjoying over 3,000 years ago. Chocolate is magical. Treat yourself to some pure and delicious chocolaty history today!

Ghost Lamps - Protect your home from Pac-Man!

If your images were on you'd see Ghost Lamps - Protect your home from Pac-Man!
Pac-Man is a most unwanted house guest. He'll wander your halls at night, eating everything in his path, and when you're out of food, he moves on to the next house. Tell him he's not welcome with one of these Ghost Lamps. They have a built-in light sensor, so when the yellow pizza creature leaves his bedroom to raid your pantry, they'll glow bright to scare him off. Keep your domicile safe from the wokka-wokka of doom!

Zombie Survival Kit - Are you prepared?

If your images were on you'd see Zombie Survival Kit - Are you prepared?
If there's anything The Walking Dead has taught us, it's that we need to have all our apocalypse supplies in one location. Then we won't be raiding stores and getting into sticky situations with zombies and the daughter of the guy who is graciously letting us squat on his farm. This kit includes dozens of useful items, including "Caution: Zombie Outbreak Zone" tape, warning signs, hazard stickers, toe tags for the bodies, a "bite kit," and much more.

If your images were on you'd see Four Shared Cube Lite Brite - Snow day fun for the family

This Lite Brite runs on batteries so your kids' artwork can double as a source of light! With 300 colorful pegs and 4 surfaces, the Lite Brite Four Share Cube is perfect for families with multiple wee artistes. Just plunk the cube in the middle of the table and let each kiddo have a side.

Plush Pac Man Hat - Be the man. Pac-Man.

If your images were on you'd see Plush Pac Man Hat - Be the man. Pac-Man.
We can't decide if this is a hat, a hood, a mask, or all of the above. What do you think? Either way, we think it would look spiffy as a Halloween costume, a cold weather accessory for kids at heart, or a headpiece to let your bosses Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde know exactly where they can find that TPS report you filed last week.

Facebook old style newsfeed

From Couponing to Disney blog:

Facebook: How to Revert Back to the "Old Facebook" Newsfeed

Nov 19, 2011 02:12 pm | Kristin from Couponing to Disney

I am very excited to announce that Facebook has updated their site with an option to convert back to the old way of displaying your newsfeed. To revert back to the Facebook that you were used to (where it updates in real time instead of the order they 'think' you want), just click on Sort in the top corner of your wall/newsfeed page and click on Recent Stories First. This should rearrange the news on your wall in order of the time it is posted.

Office space divider

Ha ha. Cracked me up. Hmmm....if you
need this why don't you get a new job. Eeesh!

From the Technabob blog:

fi Office Space Divider Gives You Privacy, While Making You Look Like a Nut

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 11:00 AM PST

There are days when I wake up and just wish I could lie in my bed and go back to sleep. But being the "responsible" adult that I am (and because of the bills that come like clockwork every month), I force myself to lug myself out from under the covers and go to work.

Efi Space Divider

But that doesn't mean I'm going to be in the mood to be all nice and hyper to my colleagues and co-workers, some of who just happen to rub off on me the wrong way. So when you happen to be in a crappy mood, you can pull down designer Mathieu Servais' Efi Office Space Divider to cover your head and get you some much-desired privacy.

efi_privacy_divider_2

..But did I mention that you'll probably look like and be labeled as a freak when you do? I mean, it's a fun concept, no doubt about that. Pretty similar to thePrivacy Shell, if you think about it. But would you really want to have something constructed from acoustic foam shielding you from the outside world?

efi_privacy_divider_3

It doesn't completely cut you off, though, because it comes with some online service that will display notifications from your email or social networking accounts on the inside.

Lego Recycling bins and Pac-man Stamps

Two of my fav things. Recycling and Retro items. WOOT!

From the Technoblog:

Whether you're rooting for Pac-Man or the ghosts, here's something fun you can add you your drawer full of geekery. It's a set of fun Pac-Man rubber stamps, the ideal thing for marking up your papers and showing off your inner game geek.
pac-man_rubber_stamps_1
Each set of Pac-Man rubber stamps is hand-carved by Paris artist MemiTheRainbow, and comes with 5 stamps: Pac-Man, Phantom (aka regular ghost), Confused Phantom (aka blue ghost), Cherries and Strawberry. Assuming you pick up ink pads in several colors, you'll be able to stamp images of Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde using the Phantom one.

The only thing I wish is that the set included stamps for the dots and Power Pills, along with Pac-Man with his mouth closed too. If you want this set, head on over to Etsy and you can grab it for $25 (USD). While you're over there, why not grab some Space Invaders, too?

These cool recycling and storage containers were created by the Italian design studio Flussocreative. They basically look like huge LEGO building blocks.
lego bins storage recycling flussocreative italian
There are four different LEGO-style boxes in the series, two smaller onces in blue and green, which are supposed to be use for aluminum and glass respectively, and two larger ones in yellow and white, for paper and plastic. The models are specifically color-coded for the Italian recycling system, but they can be modified for a bunch of different uses.

Since they are based on the interlocking structure of LEGOs, they can be easily stacked in a variety of different configurations. My only question is this: with enough of them, could you build a house out of them?

Strawberry Spinach Breakfast Smoothie

Strawberry Spinach Breakfast Smoothie

This morning I was craving a simple, tasty and nutritious breakfast that wouldn’t create too many dishes for me to clean up. ;) I have tons of strawberries in my freezer AND refrigerator so I figured that I should use them!
Blender Contents
This delicious concoction consists of: 1 sliced banana, 1 peeled orange, 8 frozen strawberries, roughly a cup of spinach (rinsed), 2 tbsp. ground flaxseed and 1/3 cup of water. Blend it all up and enjoy!

Fruity Pumpkin Smoothie

From Veganyackattack blog:

Fruity Pumpkin Smoothie

Right now, I’m in the middle of Michigan, surrounded by half-bare trees and colorful leaves. I can’t believe that just a couple of days ago I was in New York gallivanting around town, trying out new vegan spots and figuring out the subway system. And a couple of weeks before that? Back at home, waiting for cool fall weather to come and stressing out about my self-forced life changes. So, it’s great to be surrounded by nature’s beauty and living a slower life, not worrying about a whole lot and spending time with family.
Simple times call for simple recipes and sometimes, instead of a heavy pumpkin dessert, I crave a refreshing way to enjoy pumpkin close to it’s pure form but with a little help from some other fall staples. This smoothie may not be the pinnacle of nourishment, but it’s light, healthy and great for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 Cup Half-Frozen Cooked Pumpkin
  • 1 Apple, Roughly Chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Dried Cranberries
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4-1/2 Cup Water, to help blend
  • Optional: 1 1/2 tsp. Maple Syrup
Directions:
  1. Make sure that the pumpkin is not completely frozen, so that it is easier to blend. Place all ingredients in high-speed blender and puree until smooth. Garnish with cranberries and a pinch of cinnamon.
